Dear Church Family,

It is an understatement to say that prayer is important in the life of a believer and church.  I have shared with you several times the need for earnest and fervent prayer in the life of our church.  We can do absolutely nothing unless we are seeking God's heart and will.  If we are to make a difference for the kingdom of God and in our community, we must stay on our knees.  "Making a Difference in 2008" will not happen if we are not praying for God's power in our work.  Last month, I asked you to begin praying for the Prayer Summit that is coming to First Baptist Gunter May 2-4.  We are privileged to have Dr. T.W. Hunt leading in that conference.  We have already started contacting and inviting pastors, churches, and associational leaders from Grayson and Collin Counties.  Everyone we speak to is excited about this opportunity.  This prayer conference will be a tremendous time spiritually for our church as well as give us a great opportunity to minister to other churches and leaders.

I urge you to continually devote yourself to prayer in the coming days.  Pray for Dr. Hunt as he prepares for this summit and all those who will attend.  Let's trust God's Word and see what God will do with our faithful prayers.
