September 2007: Mission Statement and Core Values

In July, the Strategic Planning Team recommended a New Mission Statement, Core Values, and Vision Statements.  Those statements were passed unanimously by the church body.  Listed below are those statements:

Mission Statement: The First Baptist Church of Gunter exists to lead you into a life transforming relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Core Values: Lordship of Christ
                       Biblical Teaching
                       Authentic Worship
                       Life Transformation
                       Devoted Prayer
                       Loving Community
                       Missional Living

The complete list of Core Value descripions and Vision statements for each core value can be found on this website.  It is my prayer that we incorporate the church mission and core values in every church ministry.  I pray that we make every effort to personalize and internalize these statements as we reach others for Christ.  As always, continue to pray for a spirit of unity and purpose among our fellowship and minister with a servant's heart.  I leave you with these words from the Lord: "But the greatest among you shall be your servant.  Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled; and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted (Matt 23:11-12)."
