Senior Pastor Troy Peeples   

Bro. Troy Peeples and his wife, Torrie have been married for 20 years and have been blessed with 5 daughters: Madison (18), Maura (14), Morgan (12) McKenzie (9) and Mandelyn (2).  The Peeples joined us in July 2006 from Spring, Texas where Bro. Troy was the Associate Pastor of Family Ministry and Evangelism.  Bro. Troy is currently working on his PhD. in Leadership Studies at Dallas Baptist University.  He received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Ministry from Trinity College of Florida.

Associate Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts Chad E. Smith

Bro. Chad Everett Smith joined the staff as the Associate Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts in February 2008.  He is engaged to his best friend Tara who will finish her Master's Degree at Baylor University in School Psychology in May 2008.  Their wedding is set for July 5, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Sherman, TX at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Chad brings more than fifteen years of experience in the ministry to FBCGunter.  He has served at churches in Texas and Oklahoma and was most recently the Worship Arts Minister at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro, TX.  His education includes a B.A.S. from Dallas Baptist University in Church Music and degree work in Aeronautical Science/Professional Piloting at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

What Chad enjoys most about serving in the ministry is helping people discover their spiritual and artistic gifts, equipping them to use those gifts so that they can engage their community and the world for Christ.

For fun Chad enjoys any sport performed behind a boat, flying airplanes, traveling, playing with his golden retriever Nala, and spending time with friends and family.

Minister to Students

Bro. Tye Freeze joined the staff as Minister to Students in November 2007.  He is single, never been married.  His education includes: United States Military Academy at West Point and Texas Tech University.  He plans to finish his degree at SOSU, and then attend SWBTS for a Masters of Divinity.  This is Tye's first official ministry position and he looks forward to Big Things with the Youth Group at FBCGunter.

Full Time Office Manager: Tina Purdom has been on staff since November 2003. 

She and Tony have been married 22 years and have 5 children (3 in High School, 2 have graduated).  She graduated from Grayson County College with an Associates Degree in Computer Science.  Her work experience includes working in an accounts payable department and data entry positions.  Tina enjoys spending time as a family, reading, and helping others reach their ministry goals.

Part Time Secretary:

Facilities Manager: Doug Garner joined the staff June 2004. 

Doug recently married Tammie (Jones).  Doug has three married sons and 6 grandchildren; Tammie has 1 daughter and 1 son.  He retired from Texas Instruments where he worked for 35 years.  The last 25 years he was in facilities.  Doug enjoyed the facilities position at TI because it was a service responsibility.  He enjoys serving and that is continued here at FBC, Gunter.

Custodian: Mike Tracy has been on staff since August 2005. 

He and wife, Linda, have been married for 36 years and have 2 married daughters and 4 grand-children.  Mike holds an Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering from Grayson County College; and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from UNT in Denton.  When he's not serving the needs of the Church Body as Custodian, Mike is teaching drivers education in Sherman.
