What is Summer Construction Mission Trip? Each summer members from FBCGunter take a week, typically the first full week after July 4th, and travel to another state to help a church with new building construction. Our team specializes in sheetrocking, but has members with other construction experience.
Who can go? Anyone can go! Adults, youth, children. Youth are a big part of our strength and can participate without a parent if they have finished their freshman year in high school.
How do I pay for the trip? Each year, the Summer Mission ministry group holds fundraisers to pay for the trip and a portion of general fund receipts is set aside in a designated funds account. Anyone who wishes to contribute to the mission trip may do so at any time during the year by writing SUMMER CONSTRUCTION MISSION TRIP on their giving envelope. This money goes into the Summer Mission Scholarship Account.
How do I get involved? See Danny or Debbie Miller for more information. Typically in the Spring, a sign up sheet is placed in the foyer and a deadline to sign up is announced. You can sign up if you THINK you are going and a deadline will be announced as to final decisions. However, if you don't sign up and then decide at the last minute you want to go, it may depend on available space.
